A blank wall, one week, a custom mural

Tiger mural spray painted on the white gable wall of a house, full view
The gable wall of a family home, transformed in one week. A tiger watching over the garden.

This wall was nothing to look at. A bare white gable on the side of a house. One week later, a wall-sized tiger watches over the garden where the kids play. Here is how it happened, from the first pencil line to the last spray can.

How does a custom wall mural project work?

A custom wall mural always follows the same path: a conversation about the wall and what you want, a sketch drawn and approved together before any paint, the transfer to the wall, the colors, the finishing touches. You know what the result will look like before the first can is opened.

The starting point: a wall and an idea

It all starts with a simple request: this wall is empty, we would like it to say something. You do not need a precise idea. That is exactly where my work begins, turning a vague wish into a subject that fits that specific wall, its size, its light and its surroundings.

The sketch before the spray can

Nothing goes straight onto the wall. The subject is drawn on paper first, scaled to the wall, and the sketch is approved before painting starts. That is the guarantee of no surprises on site: what you approve is what you get.

Transferring the design to the wall

Going from paper to wall is the step that impresses people most when they have never seen a mural being made. The main lines of the subject are laid down with light spray strokes, like a giant pencil sketch. At this stage the tiger already exists: it is only missing its color.

The colors, in order

Color goes from general to particular: the large masses first, then the volumes, then the details that bring the gaze to life, the fur, the contrasts. That order is what keeps the whole piece coherent from the first day to the last.

How long does a wall mural take?

This project took one week, from the first line on the wall to the final touches. The duration depends on the surface, the level of detail and the weather when the wall is outdoors. The timeline is announced before the project starts, not discovered along the way.

How much does a custom wall mural cost?

The price of a wall mural depends on three things: the surface of the wall, the complexity of the subject and how easy the wall is to access. Every project gets a precise quote, prepared after a conversation, with no commitment. Tell me about your wall and you will know exactly what to expect.

A wall at your place?

Same process for a shop, an office or a home: a wall that says nothing becomes the piece people notice. Sketch approved before the first can is opened, timeline announced up front, one person from the first line to the last coat.
